The inspector appeared to mainly take photos and missed several major issues, including garage water leakage, poor paint workmanship (with some electrical switches even painted over), structural movement, and water pooling at the garage causing damage from the driveway flowing back towards the property. Roof leaks, blocked gutters, missing stop taps to basin valves, and doors that appear below standard thickness were also not identified. When I raised concerns via email, I was informed that Inspector David Prasad would personally liaise with me. However, instead of conducting a proper follow-up inspection, he simply created a WhatsApp video using the same photos I had provided in my email, with no real investigation or accountability. I am now dealing with ongoing issues almost every week, resulting in significant stress and unexpected costs due to this poor inspection. Don?t rely on reviews alone when choosing this company."

  "Our inspector missed a fare few things for our first buy, building inspection. They have all been small things so far, but they also did report small thing in comparison which makes no sense. For example: missed a bracket in the wet area of a shower that was falling off the wall (and now we can't use that shower until its been repaired), there is cold air coming through a couple of power point sockets, one of the bathroom exhaust fans does not work... to name a few. Additional update as of 20/05/2026: When we moved in there was obviously some water damage in 3 separate corners of the apartment due to bubbled paint. However we bought in summer. The moment our first winter hit in 2024 our floor boards popped up! Turns out there were at least 3 different leaks that the seller covered up with a fresh paint job. Needless to say it has been a 2.5 year uphill battle getting these leaks fixed through the Owners Corporation and the STRATA insurance. Really disappointed with this company's thoroughness would avoid at all costs!"

The inspection felt rushed and fairly superficial. After the inspection was completed, I personally noticed several items that should have been identified and documented during the inspection. I had to follow up about these issues, but received no proper response, only a suggestion to rebook rather than addressing the concerns already raised. For a PCI inspection, attention to detail is extremely important. If issues are missed and settlement or handover proceeds, the homeowner may end up dealing with those problems later at their own cost. The whole point of paying for an independent inspection is to catch these issues before that stage. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this service and would not use it again."

The report was very basic and contained only minimal descriptions, with no use of advanced technologies or detailed diagnostic methods. For the fee charged ($572), I expected a far more comprehensive and technical assessment. To put this in context, I used a different inspection service last year for a anither situation that provided a highly thorough report of over 100 pages, including detailed explanations, measurements, and findings supported by advanced inspection tools?and it was significantly cheaper. I chose iSPECT this time only because my previous inspector was unavailable until February due to the holiday period. While I will say that the administrative team was responsive and efficient, the inspector himself was not very communicative, which further reduced confidence in the service. Overall, I would not recommend iSpect if you are seeking a detailed, in-depth inspection. If you only want a quick, surface-level overview, this service may be sufficient?but it does not justify the hefty price charged."

  "In a nutshell, the "inspector" Aaron who was selected to prepare a report on my friend's property which was for sale in Maribyrnong area of Melbourne,was so incompetent, made unsubstantiated comments based on NO EVIDENCE whatsoever & even noted that he couldn't gain access to certain areas but still made comments anyway!!!. Every section of house he inspected he basically covered his bum by repeatedly mentioning in the Comments Section that the purchaser should "appoint a qualified tradesman to inspect"!!!!! All he did was produce an inaccurate inspection of a 30-40 year old solid brick house which in the end "sabotaged" its sale with his derogatory representation of a beautiful, well maintained house & gave the buyer a false reason to use as a "bargaining tool", causing a great deal of trouble, unreasonably. These inspectors have to abide by an Australian Standard for House & Pest Control Inspections & yet this amateur didn't follow most of it. Be wary who you appoint to do an inspection & be prepared to stand your ground with ill-founded reports from some of these incompetent "inspectors". You get what you pay for, so the saying goes."

  "Absolute hack job I hired your inspection services for a property in Sunshine North that I was looking to purchase at auction. The auction was in 2 weeks time from when the inspection occurred which I thought would be enough time to discuss and clarify any issues. Tony Alagna was the inspector and the report that I got back was a lazy compilation of superficial comments on the visual state of the property. There was no information that I couldn?t have gotten myself from a 10 minute inspection of the property. There were numerous issues there weren?t addressed, including not checking that the surfaces are level with a spirit level and he didn?t even acknowledge the existence of the fireplace, let alone comment on its condition, even from a superficial visual inspection. But most importantly, he didn?t even give an estimate of how much certain repairs would cost, a standard that is very clearly outlined in the Consumer Affairs Victoria website. As a result I reached out to him, and we scheduled a phone call for the day after I received the report, giving him lead time to prepare for any questions I might have. When I called him, he sounded completely unprepared, giving vague, deflective answers that sounded more like a politician than someone that you hired to do a job. Ultimately he didn?t even recall specific details so he asked me to send him an email so he can look into it. I waited an entire week but he never got back to me, which further speaks to his unprofessionalism. As a result I called your company directly to escalate my concerns. I spoke with your employee Ray who was arguably even worse when it came to deflecting my concerns, even asking irrelevant, condescending questions such as ?Have you even visited the property yourself?? and suggesting that I use my own spirit level to check. At the end, I never got a proper answer about the fireplace, only statements that ?we don?t inspect the internals and function of the fireplace? despite me repeatedly asking to just comment on the external appearance. They were very slow to respond my queries by email and they didn?t answer all of them before the property went to auction. In the end, poor attention to detail and customer service caused me to lose a potential property that I could have bought which is very disappointing. At no point did they acknowledge or take responsibility for this, including a refund. Please stay away from these people."
